longest day yet

ok so we had a great time staying in nugget city at the northern beaver post (nuggetcity.ca i think). a real family place. we chatted with a few locals and they were very informative for our journey ahead. they taught us about the local hunting regulations, and how life in general is around these parts.

let me comment once again on the mosquitoes, they come and go in clouds. if you are outside, there are plenty feeding on you.

we saw plenty more wildlife yesterday. take a look at the pictures. also we drove through a forest that had just burned. still smoke in the air. the roads were open thankfully and we got by safely.

one last story. we drove into watson lake where we planned to stay. pulled into a motel. they said that the whole town was booked up, so head up the road a few miles. so we did. on the drive out of town a local native, who is drunk off his ass jumps in front of rob takes his shirt off and waves it around like a bull fighter. rob weaves and misses. the guy does the same to me. i considered hitting him but didnt want to mess up the bike. i stuck my boot our at him as i went by and he didnt even budge an inch. how do i know he was drunk? well we told the story to the owners of the place we stayed and as it turns out pretty much all of the local native who live here year round get hand out from the state because the white man took his land. so that leaves them with no real need to be productive in life, which lend itself perfectly to drinking all day and fighting all night.

we will head from here up to whitehorse today. there will will get some work done on the bikes. tires and an oil change for me, and a new rear tire for rob as a spare.
